Willie E Knighton Jr.

On June 23, 2002, I was coming home from the studio in S.W Atlanta at 3am. One minute I'm wide awake, 12 miles later I'm waking up to shattered glass and an air-bag. I fell asleep and veered into the steel medium, entered the front part of the car at the gas pedal ... crushing my right leg below the knee. After the ambulance arrived I was rushed to the hospital, then I got the news that my leg had to be amputated.

To make a long story short, once the operation was complete ... I was wheeled to my room. In my room luck would have it, I met a guy name John, he was also an amputee. He told my wife and I about Dr. Ertl.  We got on the internet contacted him and we got an appointment. The Ertl procedure was what I needed because if I hadn't have gotten it, there would still be bone fragments left in my leg from the initial amputation. Thanks to Dr. Ertl, I have a good weight bearing stump that I need to perform in shows and perform day to day things I do round the house with my four boys.
