Here are Photos from the Shawnee mission triatholon that I participated in just 6 months after having the Ertl procedure at Columbia University hospital in NY. With the advise, support and talents of Matt Flynn CP(Eastside orthotics) and Dr. Dan Clare MD(Columbia University) coupled together has allowed me to proceed with my athletic aspirations and the Ertl procedure has allowed me to do this on an accelerated time frame. I feel that my stump is growing stronger every day and look forward to having full weight bearing ability in the near future. That being said, I believe that I will be a force to be reckoned in the physically challenged divisions of many races in the future. Through the efforts of Tony Barr and Barr foundation I can only hope that more clinicians, surgeons and prosthetist alike will become educated about the Ertl procedure and the tremendous benefits associated with it.
